Live at the AT&T Park in San Francisco, California, the game between the Texas Rangers vs San Francisco Giants will start at exactly 7:57 pm ET.
Apparently, the San Francisco Giants opened the 106th edition of the Fall Classic on Wednesday by handing Cliff Lee the first postseason loss of his career, as Freddy Sanchez drove in the go-ahead run with his third double of the game and Juan Uribe’s towering three-run home run capped a six-run fifth, helping the Giants to an 11-7 win.
The Rangers have dropped 12 straight in San Francisco, including 10 in a row at AT&T Park. Tuesday’s game was the first World Series opener at an NL ballpark since 2001. Former Giant Bengie Molina finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Rangers, who are looking for their first World Series crown. Texas, though, has now lost 12 straight games in San Francisco.
Wilson was a pleasant surprise for Texas this season transitioning from reliever to starter and going 15-8 with a 3.35 ERA. Tonight’s start, though, will be his first against the Giants.
Furthermore, Cain was excellent in his only previous appearance against the Rangers, allowing a run and three hits while striking out eight in eight innings of a 2-1, 11-inning Giants home victory June 20, 2009.
“You like Cainer against pretty much anybody,” said catcher Buster Posey. “The guy goes out and competes every time, and I don’t think we’ll see anything less than that.”
Nevertheless, Molina and Mitch Moreland each had two hits while Vladimir Guerrero andNelson Cruz each had a pair of RBIs. Slugger Josh Hamilton’s postseason average dropped to .214 after he went 0 for 4.Watch Rangers vs Giants: World Series Game 2 Postgame analysis of the results live

For a team that barely made it to the playoffs, the San Francisco Giants are looking more and more like a baseball juggernaut.  Matt Cain pitched 7 2/3 innings and combined with his bullpen on a four-hitter, Edgar Renteria reprised his October success with a home run and three RBIs, and San Francisco broke away for a 9-0 win Thursday night and a 2-0 Series lead.
